Currently my students do not have choice in which historical books they read; it's based on which I have a class set. This class set is on a lower reading level, but I have to find a way to incorporate a novel that all my students can easily read. I'm hoping to incorporate more books into my classroom library that will allow students to choose a book relating to the selected time period, so that my students will gain more knowledge, challenge themselves, and be actively engaged in their own learning process. Even with a variety of books being read throughout the room, my students will still be able to complete assignments, writing prompts, and engage in class discussions!
