My school is made up primarily of low income students. Many students do not have access to WiFi, Internet or updated technology at home. Many students come from families that struggle to purchase basic school supplies. I teach about 50 Kindergarten students every day in a morning and afternoon group. My students are learning to speak English. My students come to school with varying levels of language. Some are non-English speakers, and some can carry on basic conversations in English. All of my students are excited to come to school and learn! I teach all the same curriculum components in the same format as the regular Kindergarten classes including reading, writing, phonics and math. Although my students are still learning English, I expect my students to reach the same promotion standards in English as all of the other regular Kindergarten students. They can do it! My school has high standards and we work hard to reach our goals every day!
