Having the tablets in my class will help my students grow in reading and in math. My students don't get the reinforcement at home all the time and if I can make learning fun and accessible to them in my classroom it will help them become better readers and mathematicians! Having the rug with the letters will reinforce the alphabet for those who still struggle. All kids struggle in different areas, if I can address all those areas in the smallest of ways it will help me do my job and help them become a better learner! I have a lot of items that will help with letter recognition and sound along with becoming familiar with CVC words. The whisper phones really help them understand what whisper reading is and I want them to want to read and if using a small item like a phone will encourage that, I am on board!Writing is hard for some children in my class and the stamps will ensure that they can write their thoughts down so they do not fall behind on work that they do independently. In my school we have materials in my room but I noticed a lot were missing parts to them or not enough, for math I wanted to have enough for each student and to have items that will enhance their work during their center rotations. A lot of my students cannot count past 20, so I have items to help build fluency with counting. Each item is something that will be fun and engaging. I want all my first graders to love being in my room because they feel that they are given opportunities to succeed.
