The books on this list would help to create a meaningful and in depth reading curriculum to further students’ literacy knowledge. The books would provide a wide variety of genres for students to explore each week. Students need variety and in depth exploration to fully grasp literacy concepts. By having these books, our classroom would benefit from whole group and small group intensive talks about each genre and literacy concept. I would love to spark excitement and a love of reading for all students by opening up an avenue for students to be exposed to all genres and to pick their favorite.
