With such a diverse group of special education preschool students, it is important for me to help support their basic needs as well as their academic needs. When a child is agitated, overstimulated, and unable to control their own body, it is nearly impossible for them to focus on their learning objectives. My goal this year is to help every one of my students, regardless of their disability, regulate and manage their own body and learn to calm themselves. A classroom is a fun and exciting place, but for students with ADHD or Autism, it can be extremely overstimulating. These items will help them calm themselves in order to better learn throughout the day.
