This year my scholars will be oriented in achieving personal and academic growth. The resources donated will help provide access for doing so. With the organizational tools, such as the calendar, mailbox slots and storage baskets, my students will take autonomy and investment in their own environment and possessions. They will learn to respect their belongings and develop concrete organizational skills. The basic supplies, including pencils, crayons, colored pencils, scissors and pencil sharpeners, will aid in our exploration of complex topics and relieve the financial burden and stress that students and families face obtaining these supplies themselves. The cleaning supplies, such as the hand-sanitizer and Lysol wipes will help us create and sustain a clean, hygienic learning environment. The class calendar, dry erase board, chalk, anchor chart paper, behavioral posters and index cards will promote engagement. Engagement is key to classroom management and it helps students feel like they are in control of their learning. These tools are necessary for effective character education. These supplies are simply basic tools in helping my scholars achieve growth. Because of the contributions and resources donated my class will be better positioned for success!
