Research tells us that children who are read to, have a much more developed vocabulary, attention span, and an increased ability to concentrate. Because many of my students do not get read to at home on a regular basis, it is crucial that they read and are read to in the classroom each day. Aside from read alouds, my students love to use the Epic app on our class iPads which allows them to listen to audio books as well as be read to while they follow along on the screen. I saw such a huge improvement not only in their reading level, but in their love of reading last year while using apps like Epic on their iPads! Right now, when all of my students are on these programs, the noise level in the classroom is quite high and they become easily distracted by what their neighbor is doing. These headphones will give my students the ability to listen to books on Epic and improve their phonics skills using programs like iRead without distraction! Thank you for helping our class continue to learn and grow!
