Using these books will help engage my students in learning critical reading skills and vocab comprehension. This novel will be great for these students academically but it will also have a character component as well. This novel will be a good resource to teach inclusion to my students and teach them about accepting others. They will learn higher level thinking skills, share thinking, support thinking with textual evidence, interpret the text, and apply it to their lives. Currently my school is unable to fund this project. Instead, we are currently using only textbook material which tend to be dry and hard for students to relate to.
