Hello! My classroom is structured to provide movement and multiple hands-on opportunities for students to understand curricular concepts. We have a classroom library, a technology station, and (coming soon!) a Zen Den for self-regulation within the classroom setting. First graders are energetic and eager to learn, so I keep things fun with options to work almost anywhere in the classroom and offer center choices at both literacy and math time. The classroom is our home for 6 hours a day, so we work on an environment of respect through Responsive Classroom techniques and in-the-moment teaching.
