My students are often merely concerned with surviving and come to school looking for a safe haven. I try my best to provide them with rewards such as brag tags and other goal oriented treats, but also with a welcoming classroom environment. I started on the flexible seating journey about a year ago and am so thankful that I did. My students are eager to come in to class and get to work because they have the option to sit on a pillow or old beach chair. It’s amazing to see the collaboration that flexible seating areas of my classroom brings about. I would like to open this up even more with the addition of more flexible seating options. Your contribution will help me give my students more flexible outlets to pave the way toward their success.
