Most students are visual learners; it is hard to learn about different countries when you cannot view and picture in your mind specific sites and countries. Google cardboard glasses will allow my students to experience and view different places we are learning in class such as the Great Wall of China and Victoria Falls in Africa to better relate to content. Due to Google cardboard and the Google Expeditions app, students will be able to view Kruger National park in South Africa as well as view the savanna and animals found in the area such as the white rhino, elephants, zebras, and giraffe. The cardboard viewers will allow students to place their own device or a classroom dedicated device in the view, and students will be able to see places such as the Great Wall of China in 3D as a virtual field trip. The router will allow for students to access the locations while blocking inappropriate sites so students stay safe on the web without inappropriate ads. The router will work to allow students WiFi so they are not using data which can charge parents unnecessarily. It will also give the teacher access to turn the WiFi on and off if students are using the devices or cardboard viewers inappropriately. The addition of the phones will allow students who do not have their own working devices to still participate without the hindrance of having to bring their own device. By providing some devices, all students will have equitable access to the virtual field trip, ensuring all students are learning and participating. Though only nine phones are requested, many students are expected to have their own phones.
