When a student enters the classroom, we as teachers want them to feel comfortable. We want them to be the best learner they can possibly be. With flexible seating, students choose to sit where they learn best. Not only does their learning experience take place comfortably but so does our one to one mentor time. Having a small place where I can talk with students independently will allow them to open up. We will be able to discuss Habits of Success, goal setting, and tools for tolerance. Many of my students come from backgrounds of harsh realities, especially after the devastating Hurricane Harvey. Offering these comfortable areas to learn and grow will help them be better students and successful citizens.
