I have spent the past 15 years in the classroom using technology as much as I can. We have used interactive stories, movement based websites, and taken several trips down to the shared school computer lab for testing experiences. Now I would like to open the classroom door to more hands-on learning and having a Mimioteach in the classroom will allow learning to come to life in the classroom. Students will be able to interact and use technology based websites and activities that will allow them to feel as if they are part of the the stories, websites and so much more! When I was a child in the classroom I dreamed about falling into the stories that I would hear and seeing these stories come to life, and this can now happen when the students are able to use the Mimio. Letting the students use the Mimio pens to complete tasks will enhance their learning in a fun and interactive way. Making academic learning fun in a way that reaches all students is the reward that the Mimioteach brings to the classroom. Using this one piece of technology will not only boost academic confidence, it will help with dealing with classroom management and creating an environment for safe and friendly learning.
