My classroom is full of children that are anxious to learn and try new things, but will have to work harder than most to achieve it. They have so much potential and we celebrate every success; regardless of how little or big it may be. I have 7 students with various disabilities in my multi-handicap and autism classroom. Our school is 100% poverty. Some of my students do not live close to our building but need to attend Riverside because their needs require a full-time nurse on staff and our intensive classroom. Because my students have varying needs, we often have numerous centers throughout the day. My students thrive on structure and need to be able to move. The movement helps qualm their sensory needs and need for physical movement to stretch, relax and learn.
