Due to the diverse needs of my classroom, I intend to replace classroom chairs with alternative seating options that promote movement and flexibility. Flexible seating has been proven to increase student engagement and promote positive interaction among classmates. I plan to research the effects of flexible seating in my classroom and document their effectiveness and impact on behavior and engagement. I have begun the process of gathering various seating options, planning and designing ones that must be constructed, and developing ideas of ways to implement this venture. I have built create seats and purchased a set of stools. Yet, I lack the budget to bring this dream to life. With help, this can all become reality.
