"Digital natives" grow up in a world where technology is everywhere. From Siri and Alexa to self-driving cars, "robots" are now a commonplace sight for even the youngest of children. At our school, we want our students to become the "human brains" behind the high-tech devices that they use every day. "Code and Go Robot Mice" are a developmentally appropriate tool that enables pre-readers to learn the thinking skills (such as sequencing, clear commands, and planning) to program robots. Using buttons directly on the robots, students can code the mice to move, dance, and navigate different courses. As the school STEM teacher, I am seeking support in purchasing a classroom set of "Code and Go Robot Mice." These tools will be used in the younger grades (K-1st grade) to introduce coding concepts.
