When you walk into my Kindergarten classroom, you experience a buzz of excitement for learning. My students come from low-income families where food is scarce, parents work many shifts and are rarely home, and many people are crammed into small living spaces. My students work hard every day to succeed in reading, math, and writing despite hardships they feel at home. For students who come from poverty, school offers a safe haven where they know they can reach for their dreams and feel successful. My classroom is the first place where many students have experiences in academics. Kindergarten students learn best through hands-on experiences where they can sing, dance, or manipulate objects to enhance their understanding. I want to ensure my students have the best resources to propel their learning to new heights. They can achieve so much with your help!
