I am constantly thinking of ways to meet the needs of all learners in my classroom. Choice in seating can help me do just that! Students need to be able to move and adjust as they are learning. Flexible seating allows students to choose a learning spot that works best for them. It is also necessary to have the ability to easily change our space and have room for larger learning activities. Students are moving in our room while working independently, in small groups or as a whole class. Flexible seating opens up space to create an environment for these learning opportunities to happen. If my project is funded I will be able to offer wobble chairs, exercise balls, and reading pillows for my students to work in comfort and stay engaged in their learning. My students loved sitting in bean bags or “comfy chairs” during Daily Five time last year. This year I want to provide my students with more choices in where they work and have enough options for all students throughout the entire day. Please help me provide my students with a learning environment they will love and learn their best in!
