Last year, I tried giving the students some flexible seating options in the classroom. The freedom to choose where to sit in the classroom gave the students the ownership over their learning. Everyone was able to find somewhere in the room where they were comfortable and could do their best work. These seating options inspired my students to be more creative and work together.
This year, I would like to implement more flexible and comfortable seating options in my classroom. I want my classroom environment to be conducive to open collaboration, communication, creativity, and critical thinking. This simply cannot be done when kids are sitting in rows of desks all day.
My classroom theme this year is camping and the outdoors. I want to provide my students with comfortable seating options that inspire creativity. Whether it be relaxing in a camp chair with a great book or rocking on a wobble chair while working to solve a difficult math problem! With your donations, my 5th graders will feel comfortable, relaxed, and ready to learn!
