Imagine sitting in a desk 6 hours a day when all your body and brain are telling you to do is move! Students with special needs learn in unique ways. Giving these students the option to choose seating in which is going to help them learn best that day would be extremely beneficial to their education and success. Working from the comfort of a couch or being able to move and bounce on a stool, ball, or chair, believe it or not, helps students to attend. When working in groups, students can collaborate at a high top table, sit on cushions on the floor, or solve problems on the dry erase table. In a resource classroom, many groups are conducted in one class period. Having small and different areas to hold these groups will keep students engaged and excited about learning. These students are often embarrassed to be in smaller classes or believe they stand out amongst their peers, let's give them a reason to love coming to school again!
