I am the robotics sponsor at Mesita Elementary. Third, fourth and fifth graders are invited to apply for a spot on the team. There are 16 students on the team. We practice after school by working on challenges where the robot has to be programmed to do various tasks. The students must use higher order thinking skills and teamwork to accomplish these tasks. The strength of this platform is that anyone can be successful. Students who are not athletes can participate in a competitive team.
