This literature will help my class understand the past, and prepare for their futures by understanding that we each come into the world a little different. With lots of reflection, this rich literature will lead our students to being good citizens in our community. These books might create some uncomfortable conversations, but will in turn create teachable moments. I look forward to sharing these books as read-alouds, and gifts for our classroom library. Students can use these books and share their learning at home with their families. The influences of the literature will help students understand where are world has come and how they can help make it a better place.
