As a teacher in a low-income/high poverty school district, my students are faced with many challenges both inside and outside of the classroom. I like to make my students feel at ease and comfortable in my classroom, and also make lessons as interactive and accessible as possible. My classes are filled with students who crave the opportunity to be successful and by giving them the tools and resources that they need, I can help them achieve their goals. Activities, labs, creative models and visual aids are key components in helping my students to meet and exceed the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS) in my Biology and Anatomy classes, and would be utilized by students daily!
