Students need to be engaged in math through many types of learning and projects. By having these materials in my class, I can enable all kids to participate in everything without having to go buy materials or take turns using the small amounts that are currently available. Students can see math come to life when they get to apply the math they are learning in technology or in a project. Chromebooks are used daily in class with educational games, real time help, and online homework and assessments. One project I assign to my students helps them to learn about quadratic functions and parabolas using the game Angry Birds. The students love that it is something they have used and they get to understand how the game works and that there is a lot of math behind apps and games they use daily. For this project they create a colorful art project that shows the math that creates the path of their own angry bird. Probability is a standard in many math levels but students have no experience with cards and do no know
