Each of my students is different and presents a different set of needs. I want my students to be successful and have confidence in themselves that they can accomplish and learn wonderful things. The students in my class are already coming to me knowing they are different from the rest of their class. It is my job to find ways to reach their different learning styles.
This project will change the lives of my students by giving them the tools and skills they need to be successful.
This year, I will have a visually impaired student that will use the Voice Over application that is built into the Apple iOS operating system daily. She will be able to hear information about each element, as it is selected, which will help her boost of practice in the areas of listening and speaking. Students who are confident in their listening and speaking abilities will be ready to face the challenges of higher education and the workplace.
Having technology, like iPads in the classroom and other mobile devices, can provide opportunities for students to be able to work and excel at their own level and pace. Educators can personalize lessons to fit each student’s progress. Technology has the potential to bridge so many of the gaps and deficits they face. This donation will improve my class, by providing different learning opportunities, reaching to the different learning styles of all of my students, and teaching valuable skills they will use throughout their lives.
