I teach Special Education English in a small school. I am a first year teacher, so I have student loans and I am currently beginning my masters to be certified in Speical Education. Over the course of this summer I have done my best to do DIY projects to decorate my classroom with what I can afford and what the school has provided me with. One of the biggest challenges has been that the teacher prior to me left nothing from recent years. Most every thing from old furniture to old grammar work books are from the late 90's and early 2000's. I feel that my students need the opportunity to have flexible seating, modern tools and manipulatives and newer amenities so that I can really modify this class to fit each of their needs.
