Motivating students to learn geometric terms and proofs is difficult especially when they do not see the relevance. In order for students to see the relevance they must understand the application of geometry in their own lives. With Geometry Class in Action students are allowed to have input in their learning. Construction design allows the students to integrate the geometric concepts into actual products they will construct with their own hands. The construction project will provide relevance and application of the concepts that would otherwise be just words on a piece of paper. First students will work on the design process that will incorporate the geometric vocabulary then students will create a finished product that they can take pride in sharing with family, friends and community. The project this year will be designing a wooden train that will be placed in the local park for children to play on.
