For our self-contained classroom, these items will help with our day to day learning! One of the main characteristics of a student with autism is their need for sameness. We have strict schedules, activities, and origination in place in order to keep behaviors as minimum as possible from occurring. We do the same work almost every day to work on those basic skills, so having Expo markers and page protectors would allow us to continue our daily repetitive activities. When we have choice time, the students know there is a place for everything, the storage unit would help keep choice time even more organized. And our room has a safe place where students know they can go and take breaks when they become overwhelmed and need to calm down, the star projector would enhance our calm down corner. These items will help with our day to day activities and enhance our environment with origination and a calming place for our students to spend their day at school!
