Many of my preschoolers have limited social exposure outside of their home before coming to school. We want to provide as many social experiences as possible to promote language and help build self esteem as children prepare for school age programming. Often my preschoolers lack confidence to use language in group settings and become more communicative during pretend play centers. Our classroom has very limited resources for pretend play. The Block Play People, Blocks, and Washable Baby Dolls will gave my preschoolers hands on materials to promote developmentally appropriate play and social skills. These materials will help support concepts covered in our Family and Community theme units, as well as opportunities to expand on existing knowledge through center and role play activities. Thank you for taking the time to read my project!
