These STEM materials will be used daily in kindergarten to encourage discovery learning and and a hands on approach to basic skills such as fine motor, numeracy, and letter recognition. Osmo items will work in conjunction with the classroom iPads to allow students to practice skills such as letter recognition, number recognition, spacial reasoning, and early geometry skills. The code and go mouse activity allows students to begin coding at a young age. Coding has shown to increase problem solving skills and provide 21st century learning skills. Lastly, the legos will provide students a hands on way to create new products. These may be set such as a house, specific letters/numbers, or a car; but these could also be to encourage students own imagination.
