I teach second grade in Ohio. I teach in a school that is limited on resources, but full of amazing, eager to learn, students. My students love reading and need more education on social and emotional development. Addressing their social and emotional needs and teaching essential reading skills can be done through interactive read aloud's. I was recently provided the opportunity to attend a professional development class on reading. The class taught me the importance of interactive read aloud's and how beneficial it is to their reading development as well as building their social and emotional needs. I implemented it right away and my students have soaked in the information and it has ignited a new love of reading for them!
