By supplementing my daily instruction with these computers, I will be able to offer my students the POWER to explore and learn through engaging digital programs. During quarantine I spent a crazy amount of my own money on a variety of effective computer programs to best meet the needs of my online learners. My students SOARED! I realized that I can offer these same experiences to my in-person students now that I have the programs and the knowledge to use them. My students will have the power to work on research projects independently or cooperatively. The power to be engaged with and motivated by class challenges and games. The power to work independently with self-paced, self-checking, student-centered lessons. The power to access online district assessments for immediate feedback. The power to explore their community or go to far away places on Google Earth. The power to open the doors to the diverse world of cultures and people on our amazing planet Earth with Zoom guests and videos at their finger tips. The power to keep up with our ever-changing world and prepare for what the future holds! I'm truly old school, but I realize that today's students need more to hold their attention to stay engaged in their learning!
