I am constantly trying to keep up with my first graders, whether that is staying current with music and movies or playing games with them on the playground. After taking some creativity in the classroom courses and doing some research, I have come to see such value in providing students with choices when it comes to their school day. Already, my students choose daily where they want to sit. However, it all looks the same - tables and chairs. We are requesting flexible seating options, such as the balance ball chairs, to create and cultivate a love of learning in a creative new way! Your generous donation to this project will bring excitement to our learning environment, which will get my students excited to learn! When my students leave my classroom, I want them to be able to think on their own and make wise choices. It seems basic, but having conversations and the option to choose where and how they will learn for the day gives me the opportunity to talk things out with my students, developing their critical thinking skills. Also, it makes learning much more fun when you are sitting in a cool chair!
