My classroom is home to 19 children who have varying needs as students. In our classroom, we are firm believers in a positive environment that works for everyone. Students take responsibility of themselves by adding to, and referencing their own student-centered area and add to the classroom environment by posting positive notes and good news in the classroom. Students are encouraged to focus on self monitoring to find out how they learn best. In doing so we have created a flexible seating classroom where students are free to move around during independent work to find a place where they will be able to put in 110 percent and complete work that is not only accurate but reflective of their best efforts.
