My students need to play each day during recess. Without a playground next year, we will need to be creative as we use the limited outdoor space we have. Students will be able to bring these blocks outside to build, design, and create. I am imagining students creating their own uses for the blocks: creating houses, castles, bridges to walk across, and walls to knock down. Many of my students do not always have the opportunity to play at home. Their parents are often working, winter daylight hours are small, and some families are not comfortable having their children play outside in the neighborhood they live in. These blocks will make such a difference for students as they learn to both create and cooperate with one another.
