My students spend a good amount of time on the carpet. We use the large carpet for circle time, music, reading, and other activities throughout our day. The carpet contains letters, shapes and vibrant colors, these attributes of the carpet will help reinforce certain concepts being taught in the classroom. The carpet will also serve as a quiet place, for the students that need to have some "alone" time. It also allows the students to expand their explorations to a larger area, for example the students like to play games like Memory and the carpet allows them to move around and have room the reach cards they wouldn't be able to if sitting at a table.
