Giving students the ability and freedom to choose where they would like to work with in the classroom help them become independent successful students. We currently have 2 therapy balls, 2 wiggle seats, and a few old body pillows for the students to choose from. With growing class size and smaller budgets it is hard to add to our flexible seating. In a classroom with students diagnosed with ADHD, Oppositional Defiant Disorder, Learning Disabilities and Autism, it is important for ALL students to have a choice of where to sit so they can be successful. I have witnessed success in students that have used therapy balls and wiggle seats. I would like to be able to give this option to all of our students, general education students and special education students.
