I have introduced my students to KEVA planks. This simple resource utilizing wooden blocks can open up a world of possibilities. Students become very engaged in creating an designing structures that accomplish a challenge or meet a need. I teach in a STEM school that focuses on integrating these disciplines into our curriculum. KEVA planks are so versatile in their use to expand student thinking and creativity. Students love hands on learning where they can learn by doing. KEVA planks allow for learning away from the textbook. In one project students can learn about force, mass, inertia, acceleration, problem solving, and so much more.
