In our classroom we talk a lot about our feelings and what we can do when we are feeling sad or frustrated. Having resources such as books about feelings will help our students to learn about and discuss the different feelings we all go through everyday. The request for craft items such as a glue gun, corn syrup, and bottles will allow our students to create sensory bottles as a means of calming down and regulating their emotions. Creating them with their teachers will give them a sense of ownership.
Being away from mom or dad for the first time can be a very scary time for preschoolers. Having to share or take turns is also something new for many of our young students.
Being able to share how they're feeling and regulating their own emotions are life-long lessons that our students can carry with them throughout their lives.
