In my classroom, I rely very heavily on technology to make up for the lack of resources that are provided for my English Language Arts classes. Because of massive budget cuts in our state and in our school district, teachers are now being forced to do more with MUCH less--as in less parental support, less materials/technology, less funding, etc. At this point, I have been taking pictures of every single image in each teacher copy of the texts to project onto my Promethean board in order for my students to actually be able to view the pictures and words in the books I read aloud to them. With this requested IPEVO document camera that projects a clear, sharp image, the students can actually feel like they're a part of the story. I will also be able to model effectively and efficiently for my students with unique learning needs and students who speak English as a second language.
