I teach in a school where the great majority of my students are low income homes or/and shelters environment. My students are often asked to “grow-up” much too early. I strive to create an environment where all my children know that what they offer the world is a gift, that their ideas are important, that there is more in the world, that they can be more. A place where they can “escape” some of the heart-ships their home lives often hand them. The cricket will allow my students’ imagination to come to fruition, beautifully and professionally, to look the way they want it to. My students will be able to create regardless of physical capabilities. The cricket could make students’ feel from “I can’t” to “l can” They will be laminating the work they feel is important. Your generosity will help supply a nurturing I can - I am somebody classroom community.
