The materials that are requested will be utilized by my students primarily during math intervention times. I have 10 work stations set up for partner independent learning to take place while I pull small groups for intervention. Hands on manipulatives are essential in the early childhood years as the students have the ability to maneuver items on their own, and build self esteem through exploration. All while simultaneously providing the independence needed so that I am able to service the students within my small group. Students will have the freedom to use their imagination, logic, and creativity to construct whatever they desire with the materials requested. The magnetic building blocks, interlocking flakes, and building bars will all be implemented in the creation station where students will use them to build and explore engineering concepts.
