This book will ultimately serve as the framework we can build upon for the rest of the school year, and my students will experience rich literature in a way they never have! They will dive into why characters behave the way they do, what causes writers to write the way they do, and how authors make stories come to life. Understanding each of these aspects will promote love for reading, aide comprehension, and make them overall better readers. Giving low-income students access to uncovering layers of meaning in literature will be an investment in their futures. This go-to book will be the guide that we refer to throughout the entire year, and ultimately, my hope is that they refer back to it their whole lives. I believe this tool could serve as a building block in my students' success.
