Creating a comfortable meeting area for my students changes the classroom environment in many ways. It fosters a sense of comfort and safety. Students will be able to sit on the floor and have centers without getting cold. Students will be able to play on the floor with comfort during the winter, when recess is always in the classroom. I feel these learning carpets will make center time, indoor recess, and snack time a more pleasurable time. As 2nd graders, we are working on organization skills. Students that are taught organization skills will feel more confident about school. By learning organizational skills students have the ability to keep track and maintain systems to keep track of information or materials. It provides increased order for the student mentally and logistically. It improves student’s success and morale. It holds students accountable and improves student’s self-confidence. I feel the materials I have chosen will make a big difference in our classroom. Thank you for your support!
