The use of nonfiction literature will allow students to have involvement of all subject areas as they learn third grade curriculum. For example, students will be able to read about the life cycles of animals and then construct models to show mastery. In addition, the variety of literature is relevant to any and all students. As a result, students can be engaged and have a true passion for learning. The literature also supports math concepts because students can relate a story to basic operations we are learning about. Finally, students will have the necessary resources to support learning in life.
