By supporting this project, you will help me give my students access to read-aloud books that help students identify, name, and process different feelings. Read-alouds help to affirm students in many different ways, especially in the area of their emotions. These books will lead to conversations that I will have with my students about their feelings to help them process their feelings and respond to them in healthy ways. These books cover a range of topics included but not limited to fear, anxiety, worry, self-confidence, family members who are essential workers, and empathy. Using these books to do wellness check-ins with my students will hopefully foster a sense of emotional well-being in our virtual classroom setting and allow my students to feel seen and heard through this literature and our conversations.
