My students need alternative seating in the classroom to help them create a space that helps them learn. When adults like to get work done, they find a space that is comfortable that allows them to be successful. The same goes for my students. It could be at a traditional table, quiet space in the classroom, or a seat that is less traditional. Many of my students this year (60+) have a learning difference. Some of the students have attention problems and changing seats might eliminate the behavior issues that come with the traditional learning style. Students spend 6 hours in a classroom and they deserve to be comfortable. I am hoping to provide students with chairs that allow them to move, a classroom of collaboration, and a safe and comfortable learning space.
