This project helps fund my very first classroom by filling it with high quality supplies that will benefit students for years to come. These classroom essentials will help foster community and help promote a literacy rich environment. The classroom rugs will offer students a safe space for morning meetings, whole class instruction, reading, and choice time. I also plan on promoting literacy by creating a print-rich environment, creating a leveled classroom library, and implementing a daily book check-out system. Having a class number chart and personal number charts for students will help students develop foundational skills in adding and subtracting within 100, skip counting, and understanding place value.
