My students attend a public school in a very large school district in Missouri. There are 4 middle schools in our district, and I teach 6th grade Science at one of them. My students live in a moderate-sized town just outside of St. Louis county. My students are a mixture of nationalities, races, and religions. We have a few non-English speaking students each year. We have two computer labs in our school, but do not have computers for the students in our classrooms. The students have all of the latest technology in their homes, so I feel that our school is a bit behind in this area - though the district has made big strides in the last few years. I try to incorporate as much computer time into my curriculum as possible. I use my LCD projector and document camera on a daily basis. My students write stories, research concepts, conduct virtual labs, and create PowerPoints in our computer lab during my class. We are fortunate in that our text book is also online.
