Students need the chance to problem solve in fun and engaging ways. These stem-based tools encourage students to think in different ways than they do when sitting at a desk. Integrating technology with these tactile items gives students the chance to tinker around and figure out how to make things work. When it doesn't work, they try again and learn the valuable lesson of perseverance. This model of learning gives students a way to see how problems can be solved and encourage them to find ways to solve issues in a way that they would not see on paper. They will use their imagination to create stories and tell about real events with the Stickbots. They will problem solve and collaborate to decide how to best communicate their message. Using the Sphero robot, they will learn to code and troubleshoot. These skills are all important as we prepare our students for the unknown jobs of the future.
